Seven UCA members have been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in this year’s Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Adele Allen, a pastoral worker for Croydon UC, was honoured for service to the community through the Church.
Doug Whan, a member of Barwon Heads UC, also was honoured for service to the community through the Church.
Launceston’s Rod Fraser was honoured for service to the community through a range of organisations.
Di Paterson, Pastor at Black Rock and Glen Waverley UCs, was honoured for service to youth through Guides, and to the community.
Dawn Peacock, member of Frankston UC, was honoured for service to the community of Frankston.
Janet Synot, a member of Noble Street UC, was honoured for service to the arts, community and to badminton.
Barry Abley, a member of Noble Street UC, was honoured for service to the community of Geelong.
The Medal of the Order of Australia is the third highest honour, behind Companion of the Order of Australia and Officer of the Order of Australia, and recognises Australians who have demonstrated outstanding service or exceptional achievement.
“To the individuals being recognised … thank you for your service and congratulations on being recognised by your peers and your nation,” Governor-General David Hurley said.
