Ballarat Central Uniting Church hosted a social justice-themed candidate’s forum in the lead-up to the federal election. More than 100 people attended, including representatives from Grandmothers Against Detention of Refugee Children Ballarat, CFA members and people from the congregation and wider community.
Lyn Mulligan (left) from Ocean Grove Uniting Church and her friends Eril Deighton and Ruth Akie hosted a “Cards, Coffee and Cake” event to raise funds for Joan Calcutt’s (right) Act for Peace Ration Challenge. Together, they raised approximately $1,500, which went towards the total of $2,570 raised by Joan.
