Congress Resource Worker, Rev Vladimir Korotkov with Lindi Dietzel, who delivers training to organisations working with Indigenous people, at a NAIDOC week event at Narana last year.
The Victoria Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC), along with the Vic/Tas Synod, held the Covenanting and Reconciliation event, titled Ceiling Stories, looking down at us. The title referred to the artwork on the dining hall ceiling at Narana, the Uniting Church’s Aboriginal cultural centre in Geelong.
Since the end of last year, the centre – which opened in 1992 – has undergone many changes, with the opening of a café and art gallery, and the employment of several new staff members. The first art exhibition was held last month. Turn to page 11 to read this month’s feature story on Narana.
