Vivian with her mother

Congratulations to Vivian Dawood, from Lentara UnitingCare who recently received the 2012 Youth Volunteer of the Year award for the electorate of Caldwell.

Ms Dawood joined Lentara UnitingCare as a volunteer in June 2012. She works one day a week supporting the marketing and communications function and another day with emergency relief.

In the emergency relief role, Ms Dawood undertakes an initial intake interview, records notes for data input and assists with putting food parcels together for service users. She also interprets the Arabic language for clients with limited English ability. Joined by her mother and a Lentara representative, Ms Dawood attended the awards ceremony, hosted at the Broadmeadows office of Maria Vamvakinou MP.

Lentara CEO Joy Nunn said Ms Dawood’s award highlighted the important work undertaken by volunteers throughout the UnitingCare network.

“We would like to congratulate Vivian on her award and for her ongoing dedication to Lentara UnitingCare,” Ms Nunn said.

“In all her work with Lentara, Vivian treats our service users with respect and dignity whilst maintaining privacy at all times.”
