Seven educators from two Lentara UnitingCare kindergartens were recognised at the Hume City Council Teachers’ Scholarships in November.
The St Andrews Kindergarten Early Years Team; consisting of Kirsten Agius, Anne Crane, Angela Dance, Kathy Hansen, Lorraine Spencer, and Sally Hewitt-Tacey (pictured L-R); won the Early Years Educator category and received a $4,000 scholarship for professional development.
Amanda Walsh, an Early Childhood Teacher at the Meadows Primary School Kindergarten, was runner-up in the Early Years Educator category, and received a $500 scholarship to use on professional development.
Joy Nunn, Lentara UnitingCare chief executive officer, said: “I am thrilled that our staff and the work that we do has been recognised in this way. It is a wonderful achievement for these professionals who work towards our achieving our mission, of creating opportunities for children, families and individuals to flourish in a fair and generous community, every day.”
