UCA congregationsInterested in growing your congregation?

From Friday 6 November the Presbytery of Yarra Yarra will host the ‘Faithfulness in Numbers’ conference at the Box Hill Central Parish.

Billed as a conference for communities involved with large or emerging congregations, the event will feature guest speakers, panel discussions and practical advice for larger congregations within the Uniting Church.

The two-day-event will explore what it means to be a large Christian community across a broad range of cultural and community settings as well as exploring different ministry opportunities in regional, suburban and urban areas.

Speakers, including Moderator-elect Rev Sharon Hollis, Rev Paul Stephens and Rev Stu Cameron, will provide insights and inspiration for anyone seeking to grow congregations in a contemporary setting.

A broad range of ministry areas including fresh expressions of Church, congregations across different cultures and discipleship will be discussed.

Rev Stu Cameron is the lead minister at New Life Uniting Church on the Gold Coast – a role he has had for ten years. Previously he has served in youth ministry, as General Secretary of the Synod of South Australia and as a member of the Assembly Standing Committee.

Rev Sharon Hollis is currently Co-Coordinator of Continuing Education at the Centre for Theology and Ministry.

Rev Paul Stephens (Presbytery Minister Mission and Education) will also take part in discussions sharing his ministry experiences within large regional churches.

The ‘Faithfulness in Numbers’ conference will take place from 2pm on Friday 6 November until 3pm on Saturday 7 November at Box Hill Central Parish, Whitehorse Road, Box Hill.
