Participants at the UAICC National Conference in Poatina, Tasmania responded to the stories of the Stolen Generations with a healing ceremony. People lined up to pick up gum leaves and place them in bowl of water to symbolise the sharing of tears with those affected by the removal of children from families. This was followed by a laying on of hands.
