Geelong’s newest locals will be warm this winter thanks to donations given to the Ocean Grove UC’s Justice and Mission group (JIM) and the Baptist Gumnut Grove Op Shop.
Thirty refugees have recently moved into the Geelong area and generous locals have donated coats, blankets, hats and scarves to make this winter just a little more bearable.
JIM member Lyn Mulligan (pictured left with Sonja Woolhouse and Barry Calcutt) is one of the organisers of the donation and distribution. She said community generosity had been overwhelming and hoped the donations went some way to making the refugees feel welcome.
