James (Jim) Golden-Brown (pictured) has joined UnitingCare Cutting Edge as the agency’s new chief executive officer. Mr Golden-Brown has experience in three tiers of government, including the former Commonwealth Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Brisbane City Council, Department of Social Security and the Independent Commission Against Corruption.
A descendent from the Yuin Nation on the south coast of NSW, he has also served as CEO of a number of Indigenous organisations in New South Wales, the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Most recently Mr Golden-Brown was employed as the CEO of Barengi Gadjin Land Council Aboriginal Corporation which is the trustee of the Wimmera Native Title Settlement.
Mr Golden-Brown brings 28 years of business and financial management experience to UnitingCare Cutting Edge, as well as a strong knowledge of consultation, negotiation and mediation processes. He is a passionate advocate for social justice and maintaining cultural heritage. He believes it is vital to protect and preserve the rights of Indigenous people now and for future generations.
