Dan Wootton was installed as Moderator at the opening service of the Church’s Synod meeting at La Trobe University’s Union Theatre on Friday 3 May. Speaking to the theme, Wait, Listen, Trust: Hope comes, Mr Wootton encouraged the congregation to hold things more lightly, and to recognise that the tough times, when accepted, can open the way for trust. Mr Wootton replaces Isabel Thomas Dobson, who received a standing ovation following her departing speech. (For more on Synod 2013 turn to pages 9, 10 and 11.)
